The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time, 10-month position reporting to the Director of Athletics. Pitt-Bradford is a NCAA Division III institution and a founding member of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC). Salary: $48,743/year - $50,000/year
Duties: As Assistant Athletic Trainer, you will:
- Conduct assessments of athletes' injuries, illnesses, and medical histories.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for athletic injuries and conditions.
- Collaborate with coaches, physicians, and the Head Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive care to athletes.
- Educate athletes on injury prevention, rehabilitation exercises, and proper nutrition.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of injuries and treatments.
- Coordinate medical referrals and follow-up care for athletes as needed.
- Conduct pre-participation physical examinations for athletes.
- Manage and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Stay current with advancements in sports medicine and best practices in athletic training.
- Assist with the development and implementation of sports medicine policies and procedures.
- Provide support and guidance to student athletic trainers and interns.
- Participate in athletic department meetings and professional development activities.
- Adhere to NCAA regulations and uphold ethical standards in athletic training practices.
Requirements: Graduate of an accredited, professional athletic training education program with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in athletic training (Master’s degree preferred), BOC certification, PA State Licensed and healthcare provider CPR certification. Strong writing skills, computer skills and ability to work nontraditional hours and travel when necessary. A sense of humor and well-developed work ethic are also helpful.
