The Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine (PACCSM) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking a talented and motivated postdoctoral associate. The candidate will study the host-pathogen biology of tracheobronchitis in chronic critical illness.
The Postdoctoral candidates with solid knowledge and strong skills in cell biology and molecular biology are strongly encouraged to apply. A PhD in microbiology, immunology, or a closely related field is required. A successful applicant will have excellent general analytical skills and written communication skills. The work will be a mix of wet bench work and an extensive amount of analytical work on a complex data set, including bacterial genomic data. On-site work in the lab will be required 4 days per week for most of the funding period. Prior experience in ONE of the following content areas is preferred:
1) Bacterial physiology
2) Microbiome analysis
3) Innate immunology at a mucosal surface (lung, GI or GU)
